چکیده
Background: Abdominal wall injuries are commonly encountered in veterinary medicine and may lead to significant complications if not appropriately treated. Different types of grafts, including autologous, xenogeneic, biologic or non-biologic composite widely used ensure adequate tissue repair prevent recurrence cases hernia. However, identifying the most suitable graft for each case is particularly challenging. Methods: In present study, a commercial derived from bovine small intestinal submucosa (bSIS) was compared with polypropylene mesh (PPM) terms their efficacy compatibility. These grafts were artificially induced abdominal defects 24 rats categorised into two groups. The morphologic histologic analyses compare assess grafts. Result: results showed that bSIS has several merits over PPM biological activity

Immediate and delayed surgical repair of duodenal defects in rats with small intestinal submucosa patch.
UNLABELLED Duodenal injuries, though rare, carry high rates of morbidity and mortality. The aim of the study was to evaluate the healing of the duodenal wall with the use of a Small Intestinal Submucosa (SIS) patch. MATERIAL AND METHODS We studied 40 Wistar-Albino rats divided into two groups. In group A, we created a small defect in the duodenal wall, which was immediately covered with a SIS...

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the use of Polypropylene mesh (Prolene) and Sepramesh, a coated Polypropylene mesh with a protective layer of Seprafilm on its visceral side, for the repair of abdominal wall defects in horses. We also aimed to quantify the consequent visceral adhesion and tissue inflammatio Design: Experimental study. Animals: Ten horses. Methods: The horses w...
متن کاملSmall Intestinal Submucosa Wound Matrix for Chronic Wound Healing.
Chronic wounds represent a state where healing has stagnated. Venous, diabetic, and pressure ulcers are typically difficult to heal and are at high risk of becoming chronic. In an attempt to restart the healing of chronic wounds, many biologically important molecules, such as collagen, hyaluronic acid, and growth factors have been used to treat these wounds with varying degrees of success. Unti...
متن کاملEngineering a Functional Vascular Graft from Hair Follicle Derived Smooth Muscle Cells and Small Intestinal Submucosa
Introduction Tissue engineered vascular grafts (TEVG) provide a promising alternative to autologous vascular replacement. Cell source and bioactive materials with appropriate mechanical properties are two major challenging issues. Our group found hair follicle (HF) cells to have multilineage differentiation potential 1 , including proliferative functional smooth muscle cells (HFSMC) 1, 2 . Smal...

nitric oxide (no) is a small molecule synthesized by most of mammalian cells with diverse biological activities including vasodilatation, host defense and wound healing. impaired wound healing is a common occurrence among diabetics and patients receiving glucocorticoid therapy. on the other hand the application of laser in biomedical area have been increased. thus, the current studies were desi...
